There’s this guy named Conrad at my school who happens to be an ardent communist. Every time I think about him, my brain involuntarily substitutes “Comrade” for “Conrad,” and I’m always worried that will slip out when I’m talking to him, and he’ll spend the next four years thinking I share his sociopolitical beliefs.
