tried to dabble in an anime style again! it’s been a while but i was pleasantly surprised by how well it came back to me, though i had to work at it a bit
my dad has pig roasts every summer that serve as reunions for his high school friends, and for nostalgia’s sake he asks me to redraw old 80’s metal covers to be pig themed. this is this year’s invitation image.
i couldn’t find the exact font for the yellow text, but i think it’s close enough!
making slow but steady progress on the pig roast invites……i really really hate digital painting hahaahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
earlier today i started daydreaming about dropping out of school and opening a combination patisserie/florist shop
all the little treats would be flower themed, with sugared violets and rose petals and things like that
and it was just an idle fantasy but it sort of got me thinking
how many times can we decide to totally change our lives? how many times can we realistically say “this part of my life is over, i change my mind, i want to do this now”
i’ve already done that once - how many more chances do i get? have i exhausted all my switches?
so my dad has these yearly high school reunion pig roasts
and he likes the invites to be nostalgic and stuff
so he has once again roped me into swineifying an old metal cover
sometimes my dad is like “ELIZABETH LET’S DO A THING IT WILL BE COOL AND FUN” and i say yes without thinking and then look down at myself and think “why”
